I arrived in Toronto early Saturday morning. My hotel is also a pub (or rather several pubs – although not in the same buidling), which caused the taxi driver (who did not know about the hotel part) to wonder about me arriving from an international flight at 1:30 am and immediately going to a bar. I spent this morning writing a short presentation of Katherine Hayles for the publication that goes with the annual ceremony and festivities here at Umeå University. Tomorrow I will leave the West Coast for Durham, North Carolina, and Duke University. The program there looks terrific and I am looking forward to two intense days. After that (Tuesday evening) I will go to Providence, Rhode Island, and Brown University. There I will do a talk and meet with really interesting people. Hopefully [...]

On Wednesday I will go to Södertörn (Media Technology) to do a talk and discuss possible collaboration. The title of my talk (in Swedish) is “42 sekunder, 4 megapixlar och -31 grader: mellan humaniora och informationsteknik” (42 seconds, 4 megapixels and -32 degrees: in between the Humanities and Information technology).
