Inspired by Shirley Alexander I got myself a tablet PC. I have not had it for a long time and I yet have to install software etc. I am particularly interested in seeing how the Microsoft OneNote concept works with my tablet.
Anyway, I like my tablet pc. It clearly has different affordances from let’s [...]

While driving to Christmas celebration today I listened to this interesting radio program about toys. They discussed both violence and toys, and difference between toys for girls and boys. Boy dolls typically have small eyes, useable feet (that will support the doll) and hands ready to grip things. Girl dolls tend to have big eyes, [...]

pen-sms article

Yesterday I finished short article (based on prize lecture) in Swedish on “From pen to SMS”. It is always a good feeling to actually finish things (even if I will probably have to do some more work on this one). I will ask them if it is ok to publish the article online.

My meeting last week with Buxton has made me really interested in smartboards and touch screens again. Here is a description of how they can be used in language education.

I would probably argue even more strongly for the relevance of the humanities – not least in relation to the so-called information society.

I have been back in Sweden for 6 days now and today is the first day when things have not been overly hectic. It is a good feeling. It is about -13 C outdoors and it makes a lot of sense to stay indoors. I am getting my new home office/library organized and some mixed [...]

Today I listened to Bill Buxton talk about “Sketching and interaction design” (organized by the Computing Science Department). It was a very good talk. He pointed out the primacy of sketeching to design. Sketching is quick, inexpensive, plentiful and suggests rather than confirm. Sketching interaction is different from traditional sketching in industrial design. The temporal [...]

article on the humanities and information technology

Swedish journal Human IT has just published my article on the humanities and information technology. It can be downloaded from here. It is in Swedish but I might do something similiar in English if there is interest. Anyway, it was great fun writing this article.
