Tenure track position in digital humanities/screen research

I recommend anyone interested to apply for the tenure track position we are advertising currently. It is a great opportunity to become part of an energetic and exciting platform for work in the humanities and information technology – HUMlab – and be part of the school wide investment in this area. The position is mostly research for 4 years and tenure track with employment after the four-year period. The position is open to any humanities disciplinary backgrounds and other equivalent qualifications (e.g. architecture). You do not need to come from digital humanities or a technology background.

We are looking for a person with a Ph.D. or the equivalent qualifications from a humanities discipline or a discipline relevant to the position. The position will be placed at HUMlab and is part of the research project Multiple Screens as Material. HUMlab is a meeting place for the humanities, culture and information technology, and is a prioritized platform for Umeå University.

The candidate’s research program should align with the humanities and information technology (digital humanities, broadly conceived), which is a prioritized area within the Faculty of Arts, and more specifically with research that deals with screens and the cultural, historical and material understanding of a world in which we, to an increasingly large degree, exist in environments with many screens (public displays, computer screens, mobile screens etc.).

The full job ad/description is available here.

Deadline: March 7, 2013.
